What is QuizLinq?
QuizLinq is a live quiz platform for groups. You build your quiz in a browser, put it on a big screen, and everyone plays from the phone already in their pocket.
One person controls the quiz from the QuizLinq remote. Players do not need an app or an account. They simply join the game and start answering.
A player can be one person or a whole team gathered around a single phone. Teams join once, pick a team name and answer together, so a pub quiz with tables of six works exactly the same way as a room full of individuals.
How does a QuizLinq quiz work?
You create your quiz beforehand, then open the Quiz Display on the big screen. Players join using the displayed code. Your phone acts as the remote while everyone else answers on theirs.
The screen and your remote run separately, so players see the quiz while you keep control of the game.
What kinds of questions can I ask?
Five scoring types: Multiple Choice, True or False, Text Entry, Buzzer and Numerical. Any of them can carry an image, audio, video or a YouTube clip, on the question, on the answer reveal, or both.
Plus adds two audience activities, Poll and Word Cloud. These carry no points and do not touch the leaderboard. They are there to break up a quiz, read the room or open an event.
Plus also adds slides: put a round intro, the house rules or a fun fact on the Quiz Display between questions. Players just watch, and scores are not affected.

Do players need to install anything?
No. Players use the web browser on their phone. They do not need an app, an account or an email address.
Do players need to create an account?
No. Players choose a nickname and join the quiz. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password.
What personal information do you collect about players?
A nickname and the answers they give. That is the entire list.
QuizLinq never asks a player for an email address, a phone number or any other personal detail, so there is nothing else to collect. The nickname goes on the leaderboard and the answers decide the score, which is everything a quiz needs.
We do not build player profiles and we do not keep a history of individual players across games.
Can I use more than one Quiz Display?
Yes. You can open the Quiz Display on multiple screens at the same time.
This is useful when one screen is not visible from everywhere: an L-shaped room, a large hall, or a venue with separate seating areas. All displays stay synchronised, so everyone sees the same quiz at the same time.
Can I use my TV or projector?
Yes. The Quiz Display works with a TV, projector, monitor or any other screen that can open a web browser.
You do not need to mirror your phone. Your phone remains the quizmaster remote.
Does QuizLinq work offline?
No. The host, the Quiz Display and the players all need an internet connection.
QuizLinq is designed to cope with temporary connection problems, though. If a player loses signal or their phone switches networks, their session reconnects without losing their place or their score.
Do I have to be a professional quizmaster?
Not at all. QuizLinq is made for the person who has suddenly found themselves responsible for the quiz at the pub, office party, birthday, club event or family gathering.
You can build and test the quiz before the event, then run it from your phone on the day.
Can I use QuizLinq for a company event?
Yes. QuizLinq is used for workplace events as well as pubs, clubs, parties and other gatherings.
What languages does QuizLinq support?
QuizLinq is available in English, Dutch and German.
Do I have to pay to use QuizLinq?
No. You can create and run a quiz for free.

Is there a limit on how many quizzes, questions or media files I can use?
No. Make as many quizzes as you like, put as many questions in each one as you need, and add as many pictures, videos and sound clips as your rounds call for.
You can run every quiz as often as you want, too. That goes for every plan, including Free.
What if I need more features?
QuizLinq Plus adds extra features for hosts who need them, including customisation, additional question types and advanced quiz controls.
